Everything you ever wanted to know about reaching a healthy weight with the Smart for Life Program is outlined below. What makes the Smart for Life Program work? Our philosophy is very simple: Eat To Live instead of Live to Eat. Smart for Life empowers you with the healthy habits necessary to feel and look better every day. Our programs are science-based and offer safe, rapid, easy weight loss without hunger. We offer one-on-one support with our professional weight loss consultants who are available to offer to offer suggestions on how to handle social situations, holidays and other events that occur in daily life. We help you develop the skills that you need for permanent weight loss success. Why won’t I be hungry on the Smart for Life Program?Hunger occurs when blood sugar and insulin fall. The bigger the fall, the greater the hunger. When you eat three big meals a day, your blood sugar spikes after each one and your body stores fat. Then when your blood sugar eventually falls, you get hungry again. Result: you are never in the fat burning zone for very long. By instead eating five to seven perfectly balanced meals throughout the day, you will stay in the fat burning zone continuously. Our specially designed foods help you keep your blood sugar balanced, so you are less likely to feel hungry and more likely to burn fat. What is BMI and why is it important?Body Mass Index (BMI) is a number calculated from a person’s weight and height. It provides a reliable indicator for most people and is used to screen for weight categories that may lead to health problems. Since BMI is governed by this weight to height ratio, every body type has a different ideal BMI. An average BMI is between 19 and 24. This easy-to-use chart can help you determine your BMI. How urgent is it that I lose weight for my health? To determine your major health risk factors, take the following detailed quiz: While on our program, you will consume 1000 to 1200 calories per day from our hunger suppressing meal replacements and from a healthy, low fat, high protein dinner. Since a person’s average caloric need is around 2500 calories, your body will be burning up to 1700 calories per day from fat you have already stored. How does the Smart for Life Program work? Our products feature a blend of proprietary protein, fiber and amino acids which are naturally filling and hunger-suppressing. They automatically re-train your eating habits to consume four to six small meals during the day in the form of our Smart Cookies, soups, shakes, and snacks throughout the day. Combined with adequate water intake, a substantial, healthy evening meal, and the proper nutritional vitamins and supplements, this empowers our clients to reach their goals quickly and safely. What makes this weight loss program different from other diets? This program really is revolutionary. We assist you in making a lifestyle change for healthy, long-term weight loss. The program has been developed to be successful with convenience and ease. The Smart for Life Program does not advocate calorie counting, contracts, toting large food packages or dieting. Instead, we promote behavioral and lifestyle changes that help you lose weight quickly and safely. You will be reprogrammed to manage your healthy weight with all kinds of foods – for life. How fast can one lose weight on the Smart for Life Program?A compliant client can expect to lose between 10-12 pounds every month. However, results vary from person to person. Don’t be surprised if you lose more! How do your clients maintain their weight loss?We have a unique philosophy about maintenance. It is our belief that a client begins maintenance from the first day that they start our program. This is achieved by the nature of the program itself. We recommend that you weigh weekly and keep a log. As the pounds come off, you will encouraged to stay on track by the rapid results you will see on your own scale! The Capitol Hill Cookie Diet products themselves shift eating behavior so that clients are eating several small, high protein meals each day, which most doctors and nutritionists recommend as the proper way to eat. Additionally, we offer unlimited online and phone support. We educate you with the most up-to-date scientifically based health information through our free newsletter. By the time you achieve your goal weight, you have all you need to keep the weight off. What is a ‘Set Point’?The answer to this question also explains why it’s so easy to gain weight but so difficult to lose. The body’s Set Point is nature’s way of determining how much fat an individual needs. Think of it as an internal fat thermostat. For most people within their normal weight range, the body’s Set Point for the amount of body fat is anywhere from 15% to 30%. But like a thermostat, our Set Point can be moved up or down. For example, a 120 pound person gains weight and reaches 180 pounds. If that person maintains that new weight for a sustained period of time, the body will accept the new weight of 180 pounds as its new Set Point. The body will then begin to protect and defend this new weight. This is why when one reaches a new Set Point and then attempts dieting, the body becomes worried about starving and will put in place all of its mechanisms to prevent weight loss. Unfortunately, the body does not have many stops against weight gain. While doctors still do not know precisely how the body determines the ideal Set Point for an individual, they do know that the body measures a substance called Leptin, which is believed to measure the body’s fat stores. Doctors also know that the stomach has “taste receptors” in it, which sense how much fat, sugar and protein a person is eating, to maintain that Set Point. But there is good news! Set Points can be reset by losing weight, and more importantly, maintaining that weight loss for one to two years. Your body will once again create a new Set Point and defend it as fiercely as the old one. Thus, once you have achieved your goal weight, it is imperative that you focus on maintaining it. The longer you maintain this new Set Point, the easier it will be to keep it there. Remember, it does get harder to lose weight and comes off more slowly the further away you move from your old, un-healthy Set Point, but that is just one more reason to stick with our plan.
