Management:
Gloria and Doug Banks – Gloria and Doug opened their first DC weight loss center in June 2007 after Gloria lost 75 pounds on the cookie program. After keeping the weight off for 3 years she “convinced” Doug they should open a weight loss program in DC to help other people achieve success in what has been the most difficult struggle of her life. Upon opening, Doug went on the Program and lost 41 pounds in 3 months. Gloria is a highly successful real estate broker in Northern Virginia “Bringing Families Home” for over 23 years. She believes the portability and simplicity of the Program was the key to her success. Doug has been a well known and respected trial attorney for over 20 years, helping individuals battle insurance companies for fair treatment. He loves the delicious taste and the incredible hunger suppressing qualities of the meal replacement products. Both Gloria and Doug, and many members of their families, have struggled with weight their entire life. Medical Consultant:
Darcy Hansen, M.D. – Dr. Hansen from the Columbia University School of Medicine and did her Residency at Georgetown University School of Medicine. Dr. Hansen has been in private practice as an Primary Care Physician in DC for many years. She has provided medical supervision to many of our Clients and has been amazed at the success that she has seen. Dr. Hansen is thrilled to have a safe and effective option to offer her own patients struggling with unhealthy weight and related complications such as high blood pressure, diabetes and high cholesterol. Although she is not employed by Smart for Life, she is very familiar with the program and is available to follow patients in her office who want that extra level of support. Senior Weight Loss Consultants:
Monique Saunders– “Mo” has been with us since we opened in June 2007. While she is a Certified Nursing Assistant and Certified Phlebotomist, her hundreds of successful patients love her for her warm and understanding weight counseling, her always positive attitude and unconditional support.
